Crazy Hail!

By Mika Graham

If you live in Texas long enough, you are bound to find yourself and all your wordly possessions in a hail storm.  Not a pebbly/marble sized hail storm….a real whopper…..one that smashes windshields and destroys roofs. I used to say they came once every 10 years or so, but this is my second in 3 years.

Some motherly advice for those new to Texas….

1.  Get good homeowners insurance….pay for the good stuff.   You are gonna need it.

2.   Keep your garage clear in the springtime so you can park your car inside.  And if that isn’t possible, it is worth it to go park your car in the nearest parking garage.

3.  Keep some new tarps in the garage.  You might need em to cover windows or skylights after the storm passes.

4.  Have a stash of old quilts, blankets and egg crates to run out and cover those cars you have to park outside.  Have a plan!
